Middlesex Section visit to the Hunt House,
Seventeen Middlesex members joined our visit to the Hunt House in Paulerspury on a gloriously sunny day in March. Our cars made a fine array in the quadrangle, and it was particularly good to see several new club members.
We split into two groups, SHRMF trustee John Steward led my group and we were all amazed and delighted to examine just a few of the exhibits and look at the archives where I was amazed to find the James Young build records of a Mk VI Bentley I once owned. Some of us have been to what was once the club headquarters many times before, but we all saw some museum quality exhibits which we had not previously seen.
Did you know that the staircase leading up to the archives is partly constructed from a silver Ghost chassis?
The photos give some idea of what we saw. It was notable to see the good state of repair that the complex was in. The trustees of The Sir Henry Royce Memorial Foundation are to be congratulated on how well everything they keep the property in difficult circumstances. It is to be hoped that or club will soon return to its home.
